One case with Myrtaceae has been sent off pr. "Result"2 and the Case No. 19 others shall follow, so that there will be always sufficient material available for you. Please bear in mind, that Verticordia Cunninghami grows also on the Gulf of Carpentaria. I found it at the sandstone table land of Limmen Bight & M'Arthur River; its flowers are fragrant. Melaleuca leucadendron I have seen fully 100' high, with a stem 5' in diameter. It is the largest of all Melaleucae, altho M. squarrosa becomes occasionally but not frequently nearly as high
When describing Melaleuca symphyocarpa3 it had escaped my remembrance, that this plant occurs also on the Nicholson, Flinders & Gilbert River, as I notice now in my diary.4 On all these localities grows also Melaleuca lasiandra.
I am engaged now on the examination of other Myrtaceae, e.g. Angophora, Acmena &c and will give you the results in my next letter.5
Ever with kindest regards
yours
Ferd. Mueller
