From Edmund FitzGibbon to Ferdinand von Mueller   9 Jan 1864

Town Clerk's Office,

Town Hall,

Melbourne Jany 9th 1864

Sir

I beg you to accepting apologies for only verbally answering your letter of the 16th ultimo, requesting the assent of the City Council to the erection of a temporary fence across the Yarra Bank Road at the two end fences of the portion of Richmond Park, which was enclosed for Zoological purposes, I was so hurried by business at the close of the year, that I really had not time to write to you indicating the assent of the City Council to your request which was given on the 21st ultimo and which I doubt not you have since acted upon.

I have the honor to be,

Sir

Your obedt Servt

(Signed) E. G. FitzGibbon

Town Clerk

Dr F. Mueller
