To George Bentham   25 January 1864

Melbourne bot. Garden,

25/1/64.

My dear Mr Bentham.

I beg to enclose a few additional notes to my print on the Victorian Acaciae.1

I went this morning to the Governments Office to enquire about the £100 for vol. II.2 From the note I sent you written to me by my friend Mr Verdon, the Minister of Finance, I was led to believe that the remittance of the money had been effected.3 It is however possible, that by some Office error the arrangements have not been completed, a fact which I could not ascertain at the eve of the departure of the mail. If so I will adopt measures that the draft is certainly forwarded by next mail.

With kind regards

yours

Ferd Mueller.

Acacia

Acaciae is marked with a cross. The 'print' is presumably the proof sheets of the Acacia comprising B63.13.06. The notes have not been identified.
i.e. the Victorian Government’s subvention for Bentham (1863-78), vol. 2 .
