From Ferdinand von Mueller to Ronald Gunn   27 Jan 1864

27/1/64

Dear Mr Gunn

Mons Durieu de Maisonneuve wrote by last mail1 gratefully acknowledging your contribution of Isoetes. He is really bringing out a superb work on the genus,2 and should you therefore be able to secure a few more specimens of the Tasmanian species, I shall gladly forward them to him, so that he may study the plant in perfectly ripen fruit & in all its gradations of forms.

Ever your regardful

Ferd Mueller

No monograph by Durieu on Isoetes has been found, but Durieu de Maisoneuve (1864), pp. 104-5, refers to specimens collected by William Archer and Gunn, as well as M’s role.
