[Requests that the land used by the Caledonian Society be not conveyed to that body]1
M had earlier written to the Town Clerk to ask him to oppose the request made by the Caledonian Society to be granted six acres of land in the Zoological Gardens north of the Yarra River; see M to E. FitzGibbon, 14 November 1863 (in this edition as 63-11-14a) and notes thereto. M to R. Heales, 29 November 1863, presumably expressed his own opposition to the proposal.
