[M. le docteur Mueller, de la même résidence écrit qu'il a envoyé à l'un de ses correspondants en Tasmanie la somme qu'il a reçue de notre Société pour l'acquisition d'une provision de graines d'Eucalyptus globulus.]
[Dr. Mueller of the same residence1 writes that he has sent to one of his correspondents in Tasmania2 the sum he has received from our Society for the purchase of a supply of seeds of Eucalyptus globulus.3]
Eucalyptus globulus
i.e. as Sprigg, namely Melbourne.
Correspondent not identified but seems have been a seed merchant in Hobart; see M to C. Darling, 19 August 1864.
The summary is followed by 'Des remercîments seront adressés à ces deux zélés collègues' [Acknowledgments will be addressed to these two zealous colleagues], presumably Sprigg and M; letter of thanks not found.
Letter not found. The text given here is from Bulletin de la Société Impériale Zoologique d'Acclimatation, series 2, vol. 1 (1864), p. 428. It is dated to April because, in the report of the meeting of the Society held on 24 June 1864 a letter dated 5 April from [George] Sprigg announcing that a pair of pelicans and four pairs of black swans had been sent from the Acclimatisation Society of Victoria was summarized immediately before this item from M.
