Sir

I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of your letter dated 3. Aug,1 which with its enclosures reached me two days ago. Altho' her Majestys Government was unable under existing regulations to grant my accepting the honors intended for me from three Sovereigns I feel grateful for the extremely kind action which his Excellency was pleased to take on my behalf and the sympathy shown to me by the Governor on this occasion.

I have the honor to be,

Sir,

your obedient servant
