At a meeting of the Trustees of the Royal Park on 21 October, M tabled a letter the Board of Land and Works had sent to the Acclimatisation Society of Victoria in reply to an application for £800 towards park improvement. M was directed to inform the Council of the Acclimatisation Society of the resolution passed by the Trustees at the meeting of 14 October to apply to the Chief Secretary for £500 for improvements to the Park [i.e., this letter]. See M to G. Sprigg, 21 October 1864.

At a meeting of the Trustees on 3 March 1865 it was decided to send a deputation to the Chief Secretary since no reply to this letter had been received (A345 Royal Park Trustees minute book, p. 141).
