To William Hooker   25 January 1865

25/1/65

My dear Sir William.

I have taken the liberty of adressing to you a parcel with Mosses from Paramatta,1 being anxious that they should be named by Mr Mitten; or in the event of that Gentleman being too much engaged in other work you would perhaps be so friendly to send them at any time that opportunity affords to Dr Sonder, with whom I anticipate Kew maintains for the sake of the South African Flora2 a regular communication.

I would be glad, if a full set of the specimens could be returned to the Museum of my establishment.3

Trusting that you are in uninterrupted enjoyment of health I remain, dear Sir William

with veneration

your

Ferd. Mueller

See M to W. Mitten, 2 September 1876, acknowledging the return of the named collection.
