From George Sprigg to Ferdinand von Mueller   22 Feb 1865

February 22nd [186]51

Dear Dr Mueller

Your valued letter of the 20th2 I laid before the Council yesterday who have requested me to reply to certain parts of it. In the first place about the roads in the Royal Park the Council are extremely adverse to expend any portion of the Society's income in the repair of these roads and they have requested me to bring it before the Trustees. Will you therefore kindly call a meeting of the Trustees after the departure of the mail in order that some steps may be taken on the matter.3

The Superintendent has also requested instructions as to how far his authority goes in keeping certain […]4 out of the Park and this is of course a matter relating solely to the Trustees.

The Council are very desirous to liberate the quail recently received before they become too tame, that is if their plumage is in a condition to warrant such a step5 Of the […]6 you will inform me.

I am

Yours faithfully
