From Ferdinand von Mueller to Samuel Davenport   [June 1865]1

[From the Hon. S. Davenport, stating that he had received 50 plantain2 trees from Dr. Mueller, of Melbourne, who begged the acceptance of them by the Corporation. He stated that the plantain tree was a favorite in the South of Europe for the purposes of ornament and shade. A hope was expressed by Dr. Mueller that he would shortly be able to present the Corporation with 50 more trees.

The thanks of the Council were given to the Hon. S. Davenport and Dr. Mueller.3]
