My dear Dr Mueller

Having sent Mr Straubel to measure the Cotton gin which you have kindly offered to transfer to the National Museum,2 I have had a space provided for it and thankfully receive it, but I have no Cart, and as your department has I should feel obliged if not inconvenient if you would kindly allow one of your carts to bring it any day before 4 o’clock the carter to enquire for Mr Scherell or Straubel.

Ever My dear Sir &c
