From Ferdinand von Mueller to Henry Barkly   [Jan 1866]

[I heard from our friend Dr Mueller a few days ago. He has just completed as you will find in the 'fragmenta' a list of all the Orchids of Australia,1 and he tells me he is now preparing a note of all the Australian Ferns.2

He deplores the prospect of a long delay in the publication of the Synopsis Filicum as designed by your Father to bring up the arrears to date.3]
