To Joseph Hooker   15 May 1866

15/5/66

Dear Dr Hooker.

Among all the plants now most desirable to be introduced into Australia the Manihot utilissima & especially Manihot Aipi1 would be the most important. Neither has found its way to us. Could you not manage to send us the plant? Pray let me be so immodest to remark, that I should be delighted to have bits of sporebearing parts of all the ferns you cultivate at Kew. From these fresh spores we could readily raise all these beautiful things; for my cultivated fern collection is as yet not containing more than about 120 species.

Your regardful

Ferd Mueller
