From George Bentham   22 July 1866

July 22 1866

My dear Sir

I was very glad to hear of the safe arrival of the Lincolnshire with the Eucalypti1 — I was rather uneasy after the loss of the London2 and knowing that the Lincolnshire herself had to put back from the mouth of the Thames — however it is now all right

I have just received yours of the 26th May— I am rather disappointed at the remaining Compositae not being yet sent off. Before I left town early in the present month I had almost finished all except Ozothamnus and Senecio and a portion of Helichrysum — and I think that a month's work on my return to town in September will finish the whole. I shall therefore resume printing I hope in the middle of October and I should much regret the having to close the Compositae without your specimens You will have received by last mail the printed sheets up to Compositae — the last incomplete sheet in proof only

I am now enjoying a little rest in the Country, having only brought out with me a little working in writing out for the press etc.

Yours very sincerely

George Bentham
