From Ferdinand von Mueller to Edmund FitzGibbon   5 Oct 1866

5/10/66

Dear Mr Fitzgibbon

Allow me to mention, that a path is much wanted across Richmond Park from the bridge of this Garden to the Promenade buildings. It would merely need to have the grass turf taken off to a narrow width and along a gentle curve & this could be done at an expense of about ten pounds. It would be especially a benefit at dark nights, when the bridge cannot be readily seen.

Regardfully your

Ferd. Mueller1

M's letter was read at a meeting of the Melbourne City Council Health Committee on 21 November 1866, which decided it 'cannot recommend the expenditure at present'.
