MS annotation: 'Vol. 1'. The correspondent is conjectural. It is most likely to have been Bentham, as M wrote such short notes to him while they were working on Bentham (1863-78), and concerning genera to be included in Bentham & Hooker (1862-83).
Dated on the basis that the first part of vol. 6 of the Fragmenta (B67.07.05) was published in July 1867. Gomphandra australiana , Fitzgeraldia and Davidsonia were all described from specimens collected by Dallachy, who went to Rockingham Bay in 1863. The earliest fully dated specimens of Davidsonia recorded in the database of the National Herbarium of Victoria collected by Dallachy are dated 12 August 1866; that for Fitzgeraldia , a synonym of Cananga under which name the specimen occurs, is 19 December 1866.
