Sie waren so gütig, verehrter Herr Professor, mir die letzten Blätter Ihrer Mittheilungen zu senden u ich habe Ihnen zu danken, dass Sie wiederum meines Namens glorreich erwähnen. Gewiss werde ich für die Erforschung der Polarregionen streben, die uns nahe liegen, sobald sich die erste günstige Gelegenheit bietet. Mitlerweile bin ich thätig die Durchforschung Australiens zu fördern. Mr Barnett, ein früherer Begleiter M'Intyres hat sich der Parthie angeschlossen. Sowie die Golfgegenden durchsucht sind soll sich die Parthie neu organisirt nach dem Süd-Westen wenden, u ich habe der Regierung Westaustraliens angerathen ein halb Dutz2 Kameele mit den Postdampfschiffen nach King George's Sound von Aden kommen zu lassen. So durch mehrfache Züge von Reisenden, stets mit diesen Thieren versehen, werden wir wohl die fruchtbaren Strecken u die Oasen des westlichen Theils des Continentes auffinden.

You were so kind, esteemed Professor, to send me the last copies of your Mittheilungen,3 and I must thank you, that once again you made laudable mention of my name.4 I shall certainly pursue the exploration of the polar regions that are situated close to us, as soon as the first favourable opportunity offers. Mr Barnett, a former companion of McIntyre, has joined the party.5 As soon as the Gulf regions6 have been searched, the party is to be reorganized and will turn south-west. I have advised the Government of Western Australia7 to have half a dozen camels brought from Aden to King George's Sound8 by mail steamer. Thus, by travellers using different routes, always equipped with these animals, we ought to be able to find the fertile tracts and the oases in the western part of the continent.
