Mit dem Schiffe Kent, verehrter Herr Professor, sandte ich an diesem Tage eine Kiste für Sie an meine Agenten, Messieurs Betham & Blackitt, Cox's Quay, Lower Thames Street, London. Die Fracht bis dahin ist gezahlt.

Die Sendung enthält:

1, eine tüchtige Anzahle roh getrocneter Algen aus der Bucht von Port Phillip. Es hängen ein paar Polyzoa daran, die mir neu scheinen.

2, 1 Packet gepresster Algen von den Chatham Inseln u New Zeeland. Von diesen möchte ich benannte Fragmente zurück haben. Bisher kannten wir keine Algen von den Chatham Inseln.

3, Einige Moose u Flechten gesammelt v. A. Beverly at Dunedin, New Zealand.

4, Einige Moose u Flechten von Tasmanien u. sw.

5, Eine kleine Sammlung von Phanerogamen für unsern Freund Areschoug.

6, Eine kleine Sammlung Phanerogamen für die botanische Gesellschaft in Copenhagen. Diese letztere werden Sie wohl freundlichst spediren.

7, Eine eng zusammen gepackte Menge Orchideen aus der Nachbarschaft von Port Phillip, 574 Pflanzen. Diese werden Ihnen zum Austausch willkommen sein.

This day, esteemed Professor, I sent a case for you by the ship Kent to my agents, Messieurs Betham & Blackitt,3 Cox's Quay, Lower Thames Street, London. The freight to there has been paid.

The consignment contains:

1, a considerable number of crudely dried algae from Port Phillip Bay. A few polyzoa are attached to them, which seem new to me.

2. 1 packet of pressed algae from the Chatham Islands and New Zealand. I would like to have named fragments of these returned to me. Until now no algae from the Chatham Islands were known to us.4

3. A few mosses and lichens collected by A. Beverly at Dunedin, New Zealand.

4. A few mosses and lichens from Tasmania etc.

5. A small collection of phanerogams for our friend Areschoug.

6, A small collection of phanerogams for the botanical Society of Copenhagen. Will you most kindly forward these latter?

7. A quantity of orchids, packed tightly together, from the environs of Port Phillip, 574 plants. These will be welcome as exchange for you.5
