From Clement Hodgkinson to Ferdinand von Mueller   18 July 1867

Office of Lands and Survey,

Melbourne,18th July 67.

Memo

The Director of the Botanic Gardens is requested to instruct one of his Assistants to point out to the men sent from the Treasury Reserve the six Dracaenae which during my late visit to the Botanic Garden I arranged with the Director to have removed therefrom to the Treasury Reserve. As these Dracaenae are to occupy very conspicuous positions it is necessary that they be handsome vigorous specimens of from four (4) feet to seven (7) feet high.

The Director is also informed that seven more trees will require to be removed from the Government House Reserve to the Treasury Reserve viz:

Pinus Insignis

2 Cedars

Clement Hodgkinson

Commissioner of Crown Lands and Survey.
