Dr Sir
At a meeting of the Committee of the above Socy1 held on 27th Inst, the subject of the Ailanthus Silkworm was introduced, a letter read from Brisbane offering some of the living stock, and the desirability expressed of getting some plants and seeds of the "Ailanthus Glandulosa", for the Socys grounds & for distribution with a view to introduction of the Silkworm.2
It was suggested you might aid us, and send us some of the cuttings or seeds or both, and any information you could give us at same time, as to probable success of the Worms in this climate &c will be much appreciated3
Mr Carrick the Secy of this Socy is at present time in Melbourne, and he most likely will have done himself the pleasure to call upon you
I am dear Sir
Yours very truly
Thos. B. Ulph
Hon. Sec pro tem
