[Letter from Dr Mueller Melbourne enclosing parcel of the seed of Ailanthus glandulosa.

Resolved that the thanks of the Council be given to [Mr Larnach]2 & Dr Mueller for their several donations [...] That [...]3 the Ailanthus seed be distributed amongst the members.]4

Name illegible in minute book; name taken from the report of the meeting in Otago daily times , 28 February 1868, p. 4.
words illegible . The newspaper report states that Larnach had sent three Australian quail, which were ‘ordered to be turned out’.
At a meeting of the Society on 23 April 1868, 'Mr Ulph stated that while in Melbourne he had an interview with Dr Mueller when that gentleman urged upon him the advisability of getting a reserve of land made for the purpose of propagation of certain valuable plants which he was prepared to send over to Otago'.
