From the Hawke's Bay Acclimatisation Society to Ferdinand von Mueller   [Feb 1868]

[A letter from Napier, N.Z., addressed to Dr. Mueller, was laid before the council, communicating the fact of the establishment of a society in that province,1 and suggesting exchanges of various kinds.]

The Hawke's Bay Acclimatisation Society was founded at a meeting held on 27 January 1868; see Wellwood (1968). The letter was probably written by the Secretary, H. S. Tiffen.

Letter not found. The text given here is from a report of the meeting of the Acclimatisation Society of Victoria held on 18 February 1868 (Age, 19 February 1868, p.4).
