[To Dr. Mueller enclosing above.]1
The enclosure was a letter from Agnew to W. Sonder, also dated 22 April 1868: 'Dear Sir, By a letter just received from our distinguished correspondent, Dr. Mueller I find he is about sending us by the earliest opportunity a set of your publications which you have been kind enough to forward to this Museum. Allow me on behalf of the Royal Society to return our very best thanks for your valuable donation, and in addition I have the pleasure of informing you that at the last meeting of the Society you were unanimously elected as a Corresponding Member. I need scarcely say that any new contribution from you will at all times be fully appreciated.' (RSA/B/1 letter book). M's letter not found.
Sonder presented, via M, a copy of Flora Capensis (Harvey and Sonder (1859-65)) in appreciation of his election (M to J. Agnew, April 1869, (in this edition as 69-04-00)).
Letter not found; item is a summary in the Society's letter-book, dated 22 April 1868.
