From Ferdinand von Mueller to the Chiltern Borough Council   [July 1868]1

[From Dr Mueller, the Government Botanist, stating the Council's application for trees and shrubs was very late, but promising to forward some if the Council would pay the requisite attention to them; or to place their application on the list for an early participation in next year's distribution. To be acknowledged with thanks.]

The text given here is from the 'Correspondence' section of a report of the meeting of the Chiltern Borough Council held on 13 August 1868 (Ovens and Murray advertiser, 18 August 1868, p. 4). The item is dated to July as it is likely that M would have answered rapidly the letter sent to him from the Council in July (in this edition as 68-07-00a).
