To Joseph Hooker   13 April 1869

Melbourne botan. Garden

13/4/69

It affords me much pleasure, dear Dr Hooker, to introduce to you a young Australian Surgeon, Dr Rees, one of the first, who were educated at the Melbourne University. He proceeds now to Europe to continue still further his studies, and if you can aid him with any advise I shall feel indebted.

Dr Rees brings you a small packet of seeds, select sorts gathered this season.

Perhaps you will kindly afford to the young Gentleman the opportunity of seeing the grand collections at Kew.

Your very regardful

Ferd. von Mueller.
