Chief Secretary's Office
Melbourne 9th July 1869.
Sir,
Herewith I beg to forward copies of Major Beddome's Works on Timber Trees and Rare Plants to be added to those previously forwarded.1
I have the honor to be,
Sir,
Your most obedient servant,
W. H. Odgers
The Director of the Botanic Gardens.
In margin: 'Parts I and III'. This annotation is probably meant to indicate part 1 of Beddome (1869-74), and Beddome (1874), part 3. The latter work was issued in 15 parts. This part is dated 1869 (Turner (2012), p. 304) but was received in Melbourne before Turner's 'Earliest date of publication', August 1869. See Lucas (2026) for discussion of the date of publication.
