I have the honor to acknowledge with gratitutde the transmission of two copies of N. 5 of Beddomes icones plantarum Indiae orientalis through the hon. the Chief secretary from the Gov. of Madras,1 and have deposited these publications in the library of my department. I have sent Major Beddome by this mail the last number of my fragmenta2 in reciprocity and in continuation of former gifts on behalf of the Victorian Government.
