From Ferdinand von Mueller to William Munce   24 June 1870

Melbourne Botan. Garden

24/6/70

Sir

I have the honor to inform you that at a meeting of the Trustees of the Royal Park, held this day, your application for free admission of the cows of the Benevolent Asylum to the Park1 was duly taken into consideration.

My colleagues have directed me to express their regret of feeling themselves not justified to accede to the Committee's request, in as much as they cannot well make any exceptions, however much they may wish it, in favor of any institutions it being their obligation to give access to all cattle only on equal terms

I have the honor to be,

Sir

Your obt. servt.

(signed) F. v M.

Hon. Sec.

The Secretary of the Benevol. Asylum
