To David Boyle   6 September 1870

Melbourne bot. Garden

6/9/70

Will you be so good, dear Mr Boyle, to send me one load of long tea tree, as soon as you conveniently can.

For your notes on the timber I feel much indebted; they fall pretty well in with my own views.

As regards your getting permission to remove fern trees from the black spur1 I would remark, that when you come to town it would be best for you to see the president of the Board of Lands personally, with a view of being freed of the expenditure, if that can be conceded to you

With best wishes

Ferd. von Mueller

Black Spur, near Narbethong, Vic.
