To Joseph Hooker   11 October 1870

11/10/70

The case with dry plants, dear Dr Hooker, pr Hampshire came all right a few weeks ago, that pr "Jerusalem" is yet in the bay and so are since a few days also 3 cases, supposed to come from you, pr Alnwick Castle. I have no bill of loading of the 3 last mentioned cases, nor do I recollect any intelligence of their being despatched. Indeed I learnt the arrival accidentally. Perhaps in two weeks the bills of lading will come by the overland mail. So by this months post I cannot give you any information whether the contents of the cases out of the Jerusalem & Alnwick Castle came safely.1

With best regards

Ferd. von Mueller.
