Melbourne bot Garden,
5/12/70.
I hope you will see, dear Mr Clarke, that Mr Hoffmanns pay for Sept, Oct. and November is past1 on Tuesday, as it is not just to keep him so long out of his remuneration, to which he is rightly and fairly entitled. If no quorum is formed at the meeting, you might oblige me and him very easily by going to the few members of the Committee of the Industrial Museum and get individually their sanction to this pay, in order that Mr Hoffmann may not be harassed by wants any longer.2
your regardful
Ferd. von Mueller
