To Redmond Barry   3 January 1871

Melbourne bot Garden

3/1/71

Allow me, dear Sir Redmond, to beg of you to ask the trustees, your colleagues, to consider kindly, that Mr Hoffmanns salary for December remained as yet unpaid1 and that I would be glad to get for him also his January pay, now due. As far as I can see I myself have to pay him for his work performed for the trustees in Sept, Oct. and part of November last, but I should now be glad to see him paid for the last two months.2

With kind regards

Ferd. von Mueller.

His Honor Sir Redmond Barry Kn &c &c &c

[f]or the hon. the Chairman of the trustees
