Seit langem, bester Herr Professor, sehe ich nach Nachrichten von Ihnen aus. Ich weiss nicht einmal ob meine Original Sammlung australischer Moose welche Alles enthält was ich besitze, noch in Ihren Händen ist, und ob Sie in den Nachsendungen auch die 2 theueren Bände von Hookers Flora Tasmanica erhielten. Selbige kostete mir ohne Einband £15
In diesem Monat habe ich nun wieder eine Menge seither erlangter Moose an Sie abgeschickt und zwar unter Obhut des ausgezeichneten Corvetten Capiteins Koltovskoy, der mit der "Haydamack" einige Tage in unserm Hafen weilte.
Unter den Moosen waren auch eine Menge Exemplare von Dawsonia Lindbergi.
Bittend doch recht bald von den Resultaten Ihrer schönen Arbeiten über meine Moose mir Auskunft zu geben und hoffend dass Sie ganz wohl sind bleibe ich der Ihre

For a long time, dear Professor, I have been looking out for news from you. I do not even know, if my original collection of Australian mosses, containing everything I have, is still in your hands, or whether you received the two expensive volumes of Hooker's Flora tasmaniae1 in the later consignments. They cost me £15/-/- unbound.
This month I have sent you again a lot of mosses I acquired since, under the care of the excellent Captain Koltovskoy,2 who was in our harbour for a few days with the Haydamack.
Among the mosses were also a lot of specimens of Dawsonia lindbergii.3
Asking that you will give me news very soon on your fine work on my mosses and hoping, that you are quite well, I remain your
