From Ferdinand von Mueller to Thomas McPherson   17 July 1871

Melbourne bot. Garden.

17/7/71.

May I ask, dear Mr M'Pherson, that the two Corporation men on the Yarra may be placed for a few weeks under my order, as I am anxious to replace some willows, put some other suitable plants for binding the Yarra Bank into the ground and effect some other improvements before the planting season entirely passes.1

With best regards

Ferd. von Mueller.

M's letter was referred to the Melbourne City Council Health Committee and Public Works Committee. MS file annotation: 'Comtte have no men at their disposal'. This situation was conveyed to M in E. FitzGibbon to M, 4 August 1871.
