[Memo in reference to cottage previously occupied by the carter of the gardens]1
This letter was referred back to M, 22 August 1871 minuted: 'for report'. M returned it to the Chief Secretary's Office on 6 September. The letter was forwarded to the Public Works office the same day minuted: 'whether he will authorise one addl [additional] Cottage?' The letter was returned to the Chief Secretary's Office on 14 September and referred again to the Public Works office on 3 October minuted: 'no rent to be charged if former cottage was free'.
