To George Bentham   6 September 1871

Melbourne bot. Garden

6/9/71.

Do not think, my good and dear Mr Bentham, that I am unmindful of you and your requirements, because I passed a mail or two without writing. While you are yet amidst the "genera"1 there was no necessity to disturb you, besides the forest- & industrial affairs of the Country have absorbed my spare moments for some months past.2 Whenever I learn from you, I will send supplemental material, orchideae &c

It is marvellous, with what ease you at your venerable age are still working.

Ever your regardful

Baron Ferd. von Mueller.
