Melbourne bot. Garden,
18/3/72
Allow me, dear Mr Guilfoyle, to draw your attention to the fact, that the fruits of Akania Hillii remained as yet unknown. The tree grows in your district. The leaves are similar to those of the Nuttree, but pinnate and more sharply toothed. Possibly the very tree may be in your ground wild or perhaps near to it. So you may perhaps without trouble be able to supply some day the ripe fruit, without which the precise position of this sapindaceous genus cannot be fixed.1
With best remembrance
Ferd. von Mueller.
