Melbourne bot Garden
29./5./72.
It will afford me much pleasure, dear Mr Kane, to supply the needful plants for the School Reserve of Avoca, if early arrangements for delivery can be made at my office. I should also require to know, for how many trees and how many shrubs the ground is actually prepared.
With best salutation
Ferd. von Mueller
MS annotation by Kane, 31 May 1872: 'Thank him & say that the L. C. [Local Committee] have been asked to say how many trees & shrubs the ground is prepared for'. The letter was sent to M accordingly on 3 June; letter not found.
