Allow me, honored and friendly Colleague, to send you a branchlet of Casuarina Decaisneana.1 This very peculiar tree has very recently been discovered in considerable quantity along the MacDonnell's Ranges in Central Australia, traced by Mr Giles about 2 meridians further west, also near Lake Amadeus, a new extensive Salt lake, discovered by the same Explorer.2

With deep regards

Ferd. von Mueller

I hope soon to be able to send seeds of this species.

Casuarina Decaisneana

Described in B58.07.01. p. 61.

Ernest Giles.
