To Henry Edwards   3 February 1873

Melbourne bot. Garden,

3/2/73.

I was pleased to hear once more from you, dear Mr Edwards, and shall always be glad to remain in communication with an enlightened friend like yourself.

It is very possible, that Count de Castelnau's Collection of Coleoptera is offered for sale in Paris, because his eyesight has failed him so much, that he cannot work on these creatures any longer, and thus confines now his researches to fishes.

Though the Count has financially suffered in his position, yet his General Consulate is maintained. Besides he is quite independent, as he is partner in a large station for sheep and cattle pasture on the Wimmera.

With regardful

salutation

Ferd. von Mueller.
