To George Bentham   1 March 1873

Melbourne

bot Garden

1/3/73.

When my sending to Kew was made some weeks ago by the "Hampshire",1 dear Mr Bentham, my Agent unfortunately omitted here to send a memorandum to you or to Dr Hooker. The monthly mail had just left and so the case may be already in London before this letter reaches you. A Glass case was also sent.

Capt Ridgerspromised to take charge of both, but I have no bill of loading & the consignments is also not placed on the Ship's manifest. Thus it may get lost altogether, unless indeed the Kew Agent will look at once after it. The case for you contains Monocotyledoneae with adnate fruits.

Your very regardful

Ferd. von Mueller
