From Ferdinand von Mueller to William Guilfoyle   15 Apr 1873

Melbourne bot Garden

15/4/73

I should be glad, dear Mr Guilfoyle, if you could send me young fruit in various stages of Guilfoylia monostylis, as I wish to study the position of the ovules more carefully. I have already sent a full description of the genus into print.1 The 3 nuts out of one large berried fruit I should also like to examine in connection with flowering branches, whenever you can find any of them

Regardfully your

Ferd. von Mueller

Have you ever met the climber, of which I enclose a fragment.2 I have it only from the River Clarence,3 and never saw flowers or fruits

Guilfoylia monostylis
