Dear and learned colleague
With this I have the pleasure of sending you a small packet of seeds that I hope will be useful to you. Leptospermum laevigatum and Melaleuca parviflora are two scrubby trees with a tall stem, admirably adapted to fix the sands of the sea coasts. The Acacia pycnantha is a beautiful little tree, growing also close to the sea, the bark of which contains a large quantity of tannin. The abundant flowers yield a fragrant essence.
I am sending you also the last number of my Fragmenta.2
Accept, sir, the assurance of my high regard
Your devoted
Ferd. von Mueller
