The file cover records applications submitted for supplies of plants trees and ferns by Field and 'W H Birchall for Mr Bryant [Jeyces] Creek'. On 9 June 1873 the Secretary of Agriculture, A. Wallis, minuted: 'There can be no objection, I presume, to the sanction of Mr Birchall's request. The other requisition, I think, should stand over until more important ones have been supplied with'. On 10 June the Assistant Commissioner of Crown Lands and Survey, C. Hodgkinson, added: 'I concur in foregoing remark by Secretary for Agriculture'. Casey initialled the file on 11 June. A note records that Birchall's request was detached by Wallis on 12 June; it has not been found.
