Letter not found. The text given here is from Bulletin de la Société d'acclimatation, series 2 vol. 10 (1873), p. 758. M's letter is dated to June 1873 as the latest likely date that it could have been sent to d'Ounous in Saverdun, Ariege, in the Midi-Pyrenees region (now part of the Occitanie region) of France in time for him to report the seeds to the meeting of the Society held on 29 August 1873. However, as d'Ounous offered material from five other correspondents, it may have been sent earlier, and held until d’Ounous had accumulated a consignment.
