Herewith, dear Sir William, I beg to send you a copy of a print, in which I restored your honored name among ferntrees,1 having nearly 10 years ago, after Sir Will. Hooker had returned my whole collection of Alsophilae unnamed and ignorant or inconscious of the desire of our late friend to honor you similarly, given the then for you intended Alsophila away to the memory of Leichhardt, and of whose collection I had an autographic specimen, gathered in 1842, so that he appeared to be the first who discriminated that particular tree-fern2
