Besides 8 parcels of Xanthorrhoeae, & 1 of Dasypogon.

I added also a Parcel of plants from Lord Howe's Island, (2 sets) from Fullagars Expedition; please ask Dr Hooker, if he could afford to purchase them for any price he thinks fit, as the collector is in very poor circumstances.1

I shall soon send an other case. The genus Panicum I revised lately;2 so far as Australia is concerned. I verely believe that the species in Steudels3 work must be reduced ⅔ or ¾

Altho there are many additions to R Browns in my collections, still after due reduction I shall not likely be able to bring the whole up to the original number of R Brown's

Regardfully your

Ferd. von Mueller

I was was invited also to Florence,4 but it was impossible under existing circumstances to leave here. Helpless as I am even in manual work to a large extent, I cannot send any of my new plants now to Kew;5 the selecting would involve many weeks work, but as I intend to issue a supplemental volume I will then successively put up also specimens of all new plants for Kew next year.
