From John Graves to Ferdinand von Mueller   5 Oct 1874

Caldew Hobart1

5 Oct 1874

My dear Sir

Alderman Risby has just handed me this slip of our curious shrub. He says it was sent by a Mr Curtis2 of Kew on your side of the water. It may be that it is a broken piece from Mr Twentyman's tree,3 or from the one I sent you. If not we may, by the help of Mr Curtis, find out the history of the stranger in the green.

Yours truly

J W Graves.

Baron Von Müeller

Melbourne
