United States sloop-of-war Swatara departed Hobart on 17 February 1875 and arrived in Melbourne on 19 February (Argus, 20 February 1875, p. 6). A.J. Webster, US Vice-Consul, was a passenger. M acknowledged receipt of the specimen in M to J. Agnew, 25 February 1875.
